Along with grief and loss, the anniversary of brought home for many the “incalculable cost” of the quarter century of carnage it unleashed - the

In a possibly more than averagely batshit news week, the apocalyptic clusterfuck of clowns “governing” this country just got up to some serious weirdness.

Daily news & progressive opinion—funded by the people, not the corporations—delivered straight to your inbox.

Atop all the others inflicted on us came last week's sickening spectacle of two vengeful, lying, broken old men - one a longtime killer of children , one a petty useful idiot abetting him - alternately celebrating and threatening genocide before “we the peoples of the United Nat i ons ,” created to halt “the scourge of war” and enable us to “live together in peace with one another.” Today, instead, we get unspeakable atrocities. Omar El Akkad: “One day everyone will have always been against this.”

Skirting his debacle of a war, “smug pathetic little man,” warfighter fetishist and Gen.-Patton-cosplaying clown Pete Kegsbreath just gave another

Apologies for invoking the awful noise that never stops. But a month before mid-terms, a fascist feckless clown show run by the dumbest people ever churns on with lies, bribes, cruelty, crude racism ; their flailing leader grows daily more perilous; and fiery patriots remind us we cannot grow weary. Oddly, we find solace in Lindsey Graham's 2016 prophesy to the GOP : “If we (choose) Trump, we will get destroyed, and we will deserve it.” Truth: “And in the fullness of time....”

This week's anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack and the three-year, U.S-funded Gazan genocide it ignited marks the creation of a world where “the

The devastation goes on apace at the teeny toxic hands of the clowns and hacks in power (maybe not much longer?). Topping the abuses: An assault by Homeland Security (sic) thugs on the home of a duly elected (albeit female, brown, Muslim) member of Congress for imaginary crimes as a child. Also: racist rallies, fake rumors, defying of court orders, calamitous fails on all sides. Their witless leader: “If

These truly-through-the-looking-glass days, it seems the drunk uncle you really didn't wanna ask to dinner is getting worse. Scarily and no longer mirthfully, the befuddled “head” of a GOP blitzed on projection daily spirals deeper into phantasmagoria - slurring words, crafting fictions, renaming oceans , rekindling grievances, losing it over trifles and consorting with imaginary friends as the world burns. An urgent plea from No Kings for the coming election: “Clean Up On Aisle USA,” sooner rather than later please.

Most of Planet Earth now knows cruelty is the point of Trump 2. But if anyone implausibly needs more evidence, meet Rev. Edward Nalwamba, a 79-year-old, pro-democracy Ugandan priest who spent over a year in ICE detention. When he went in, he was fit; at his long-delayed release last week, fellow detainees had to carry him to a car because officials wouldn't let him take his wheelchair that far. To ICE, he charged, “You are an animal...They forget they are dealing with human beings.”
