For years, the cost and complexity of building enterprise booking technology pushed many travel management companies toward third-party providers. Christopherson Business Travel believes those barriers are disappearing, and with them the rationale for surrendering control of the customer experience.

U.K.-headquartered travel management company Gray Dawes has more than doubled its presence in the U.S. with the acquisition of Nebraska-based Executive Travel for an undisclosed sum. It is the company's 17th acquisition to date and takes its total annual group revenue to around $900 million.
