DAYTON — A weak ridge of high pressure has set up near the Miami Valley and allows for high temperatures to climb into the 90s. This ridge keeps our winds out of the southwest bring in more moisture. This means dew points are climbing into the 70s, a more tropical or miserable level.

A heat advisory goes into effect at 2 PM Tuesday and expires at 8 PM Thursday, due to the increased threat for dangerous heat index values.

DAYTON — The ridge of high pressure that is controlling our temperature will break down late week and into the weekend. This means temperatures will return closer to normal, if not below normal.

DAYTON — A cold front hung up to our north will eventually help to breakdown the ridge of high pressure that has controlled our temperatures over the last weeks time.

Patiently we wait for the cold front to break the ridge of high pressure.

DAYTON — An area of high pressure is setting up near the Miami Valley. This high keeps us dry for the next three days, but with a wind shift as the high pushes east temperatures and humidity will rise.

The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has the Miami Valley under a marginal risk for strong winds and small hail. The threats are extremely low. This is an isolated chance for strong to severe storms.

DAYTON — An increase if rain and storm chances arrive late Wednesday and throughout Thursday. A marginal risk for an isolated severe storm is in place for the entire Miami Valley. Damaging winds and small hail are possible, but not likely.

DAYTON — A warm front will attempt to lift Saturday ahead of the next approaching cold front. This will increase rain chances throughout the weekend.

DAYTON — The same cold front that moved through the Miami Valley the last 24 hours will lift back north as warm front within the next 12 hours.
