It is now official. After several days of rumors, the Piedmont Triad Charitable Foundation, which puts on the annual golf tournament at Sedgefield Country Club, announced Aug. 12 the new sponsor of what until Aug. 11 was the Wyndham Championship. Beginning in 2027, Raymond James will be the new sponsor of the tournament now called GO by Raymond James. The name is a nod to the original name, Greater Greensboro Open, or GGO.

It is not raining cats and dogs at the Guilford County Animal Shelter but it may seem like it is to employees.

The rezoning hearing for 4909 Guilford College Road from AG to CZ-SFR was continued from the July Jamestown Town Council meeting to the August 18 meeting. Since then, the applicant,

The discussion has been going on for several years: Should Jamestown pay extra for extra services from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department. No other municipality in the County pays extra.

Most days, the Grandover neighborhood adjacent to Jamestown is a nice, quiet upscale neighborhood with two golf courses.

It is an icon along Hwy. 68 near Oak Ridge in Guilford County.

What could Main Street in Jamestown look like in the future? What can be done to attract not only shoppers but businesses as well? Do you envision trees, a roundabout at Guilford Road, a lower speed limit?

Remember when the Fall Classic was one of the tournaments everyone wanted to play? The competition. The golf. The camaraderie. The stories that lasted long after the final putt.

It appears the Oakdale Road Sidewalk Project may actually happen.
