Local folks enjoyed a great night at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport on Aug. 15 where the River Bandits took on the Fort Wayne TinCaps under cloudy skies for most of the double-header. Mid-Prairie shirts dotted the stands as Kalona Mayor Mark Robe threw out the first pitch; the first game ended in a 4-2 win for the Bandits and the second was suspended at a 2-2 tie as a thunderstorm moved in. Sunday the Bandits scored a 4-2 win when the game resumed, improving their record to 56-51 and tying the Beloid Sky Carp for first place in the Midwest League's Western Division.
