Director Leah Daugherty is kicking off summer and growing weather with Madeleine George’s Hurricane Diane, a darkly comedic nod to environmentalism and sustainability.

Stephen Sondheim's Company has long been regarded as an insightful and groundbreaking comedy. In this latest production, director Courtney Conklin impressively rises to the challenge that Sondheim poses, offering an engaging and emotionally relatable interpretation that showcases both the strengths of the cast and the continuing relevance of the material.

Arendelle has once again transformed Sacramento into a wintry wonderland, this time in the round at Broadway at Music Circus. Frozen the Broadway Musical is a dazzling stage adaptation of Disney's beloved 2013 animated film. It opened on Broadway in 2018 with additional songs by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez and earned three Tony Award nominations: Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score. Director Glenn Casale has assembled a star-studded cast for this adaptation, and his signature touch elevates the joy and magic that Disney represents.

Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein is tapping its way into the hearts of Sacramentans as fast as you can say, “It’s alive!” The film version premiered in 1974 and quickly became a beloved parody of the classic Universal monster movies. It combined Brooks' signature humor and outrageous characters into an enduring classic that was adapted to a Broadway musical in 2007. This summer, director Glenn Casale’s vision of mad genius turns this Broadway at Music Circus production into a gloriously entertaining monster mash.

Step into the concrete jungle where dreams are made of! Broadway Sacramento’s newest tour is aptly titled for our Sacramento summers, and Hell’s Kitchen is heating up the stage. This coming-of-age musical features the music and lyrics of Alicia Keys and is overflowing with enough heart, soul, and energy to light up Times Square. It’s an inspiring, semi-autobiographical story about family, first love, and finding your voice, all wrapped up in one electrifying evening of theatre.

It’s an unexpected combination of puppetry, humor, and boxing that explores what makes a family. Although the subject matter can be heavy at times, Jung keeps the dialogue engaging and adds a touch of whimsy through the eyes of an astute, yet damaged, child. Director Jackie Martin has tackled this difficult piece and assembled a remarkable cast that brings complex themes, shifting identities, and emotional tensions vividly to life. The result is an unusual and thought-provoking play about the journey we take to find our pack.
