Yacht-charter guests enjoying the South Pacific have new ways to support the waters and communities they visit. The Superyacht People has joined forces with the International SeaKeepers Society to connect clients with marine-conservation initiatives.

In 2022, Antonini Navi sold a contract for a fully custom XPD88 yacht to an avid explorer. At that time, Aldo Manna, the yard’s co-founder and sales director, asserted, “The XPD88 will open up a new market for Antonini Navi, that of metal pleasure boats, which have seen exponential growth in recent years, especially abroad.” His prediction has come true with the sale of an XPD95 yacht. She, too, is custom. More importantly, she may appear to be an explorer, but she’s bound for the Med.

“Refit remains fundamental to our work, but Upfit reflects something broader,” explains Antonio Palumbo, CEO of Palumbo Upfit. It’s the new name for Palumbo Superyachts Refit, reflecting the changing relationship the division has with captains and owners.

Delivering on a pledge to offer additional megayacht projects, Sunseeker has peeled back the curtain on a 148-footer (45-meter). The Sunseeker 45M Superyacht should also start construction in about a year’s time.

Maiora is making a significant move into larger-yacht territory with the Supernova 50, a 164-foot (50-meter) steel-and-aluminum superyacht. Just as noteworthy is what the shipyard and designers are trying to accomplish within her surprising dimensions and equally surprising arrangement. They’re creating the space and privacy associated with significantly larger yachts while keeping volume below 500 gross tons.

A yacht with a soul belonging to adventurous owner Erik Vonk, Scintilla Maris is anything but conventional. She was a 30-year-old North Sea fishing trawler when Vonk selected her for a four-year rebuild. Having ventured off the beaten path and stared down challenging seas, Scintilla Maris is ready for her next adventurous owners, up for auction in November.
