When I started my career 20+ years ago, I was a Project Manager at a direct marketing agency and then I became a Marketing Manager at an insurance company. When people asked what I did for work, those two jobs were pretty easy to explain to people.

A few days ago, a number of posts on X about Grok.Bot showed in my feed, including Damon Chen’s below. Someone had apparently registered the Grok.Bot domain name and put it up for sale.

I was doing some domain name acquisition research yesterday evening when something caught me off guard. When I visited the high value Etch.com domain name to see how/if it was being used, I was surprised about where the domain name took me.

Atom.com recently enabled its Instant Domain Appraisal tool to show amounts above $1 million. Prior to the change, the maximum appraisal amount was shown as > $1 million. Rob from Snagged shared an acquisition story that should get the attention of domain investors who share too much insight online. When he was helping a company acquire Plateful.com, the owner of the domain name used some insights Rob himself had shared in order to get a better price for the domain name.

Dynadot emailed customers today to introduce a new Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process that will pertain to registrants of certain domain name extensions. The registrar announced these KYC requirements are for.DE and.NO domain name registrants, but “ additional extensions potentially added in the future.”

The Cyber domain name was sold for 7 figures in a deal brokered by Sedo domain broker Mark Ghoriafi (aka Mr. Premium).

I do all of my domain name auction research in the morning while I drink coffee. I spend time analyzing the drop lists and researching the domain names that catch my attention. Typically, all of my backorders and opening bids are placed well before lunch.

Someone recently commented to me that the price of a domain name I own is so high that I will probably die with it and my kids will inherit it. The comment made me laugh – and that person made be right. His comment made me think about great.com domain names as generational assets.
