Scattered downpours and thunderstorms are going to move in from the south as we head through the afternoon and early evening hours. Although the overall threat for severe storms is low today, some afternoon storms can still be stronger in nature with concerns of brief gusty winds, frequent lightning and locally heavy rainfall. Storms will begin to taper off around 7PM, hopefully just in time for high school football games to kickoff. A few football games may still see some brief weather or lightning delays.
