The Leonardo da Vinci Museum of North America & STEAM Center is now open in the ‘Steel City' and it is amazing!! While there are periodic, touring exhibitions of this amazing man's works, what is now on permanent display in Pueblo provides an opportunity for visitors to see real life models, paintings and writings of what this once in a millennia genius built, painted, wrote and imagined.

As congressional district's go, Colorado's 4 Congressional District is interesting. It is vast and, to say it's diverse, would be an understatement.

Pueblo, southern Colorado's largest school district, and the rest of the state have shown a dramatic improvement in graduation rates since 2010. In 2010, statewide graduation rates were a dismal 72.4 percent, nearly eight points below the national average. Today, national graduation rates in the class of 2026 are 88.5 percent with Alaska having the lowest at 79.8 percent. Vermont, Maine and Montana were the three states with the highest high school graduation rates coming in at 94.9 percent, 94.8 percent and 94.6 percent respectively.

Chavez, former Executive Director of Denver's Latin American Educational Foundation, an organization that has for decades awarded scholarship money to thousands of young Latino students, says CCD is a great launching pad for recent high school graduates starting life's journey. It is also a perfect option for others simply looking to sharpen their skills, learn new ones or simply find a new North Star that may take them to a place they've never been before or, perhaps, even imagined. CCD, said Chavez, is an educational adventure that presents “really great opportunities.”
