Not enough data
Ian Swanson's coverage is heavily focused on local government and politics, with a significant portion also dedicated to crime-related news. His articles often revolve around breaking news, evolving stories, and government announcements. Therefore, he would likely be most interested in receiving pitches related to local political developments, community issues or criminal justice topics within his geographic focus.
Given the variety of topics covered in Ian's articles such as city development, healthcare, crime and recruitment at the local level, consider pitching stories that offer unique insights into these subjects from a regional perspective. Additionally, if you have access to exclusive data or information relevant to Edinburgh or Scotland’s governmental decisions and their impact on society locally - this may pique his interest.
As Ian focuses primarily on local reporting within Scotland (Edinburgh specifically), tailoring your pitch by highlighting how it directly impacts residents of the area will likely make it more appealing for him.
