TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Florida State University student who was shot after a gunman opened fire on campus last year in April is suing the university, according to recent court records.

West brings more than 30 years of law enforcement experience to the position, recently retiring from the U.S. Marshals Service, according to TCSO.

The court records dated September 4 reveal that FSU student Elizabeth Mall is suing the university, alleging that she was shot during the campus shooting that day “due to inadequate and negligent security.”
