Irad Ortiz Jr. rode Nakatomi from the back of the pack and up the rail in the final furlong Friday to win the Grade 2, $400,000 Phoenix Stakes at Keeneland for the second straight year.

Emphatic took the lead early, fought off odds-on favorite Summer Starlet around the far turn and pulled clear in the final furlong to stay unbeaten with a win in the Grade 1, $650,000 Alcibiades Stakes on Friday at Keeneland.

John Velazquez saved his best move for the end Saturday, swinging American History wide and running down odds-on favorite Coach Pope and Q B Rocket to win the Grade 1, $650,000 Breeders' Futurity by a length at Keeneland.

Odds-on favorite Fully Subscribed took control on the far turn and drew off through the stretch Sunday to win the Grade 1, $650,000 Spinster Stakes at Keeneland.

Agate saved ground off the pace, split rivals in deep stretch and drew away to a 1 3/4-length victory over betting favorite Bold Leadership in the Grade 2, $400,000 Bourbon Stakes on Sunday at Keeneland.

American History wasted no time putting his name in Keeneland’s record books, scoring a measured one-length victory in Saturday’s Claiborne Breeders’ Futurity (G1). The Todd Pletcher-trained colt covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:46.90 and could head to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile as the favorite.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy has advanced the treatment of haematological cancers, but faces challenges achieving durable responses, particularly in solid tumours. Metabolism is a major determinant of CAR T cell fitness, persistence and function. The choice of co-stimulatory domain induces distinct metabolic profiles within the CAR T cell, making it crucial to consider engineering approaches that favour T cell metabolic phenotypes conducive to sustained antitumour activity. Likewise, variations in manufacturing platforms and expansion conditions, including nutrient composition, lead to distinct metabolic and functional profiles, yet the metabolic parameters in manufacturing protocols for clinical studies remain largely unstandardized. Beyond intrinsic cellular engineering, host metabolism exerts a sizeable influence on therapeutic outcome. Diet-based interventions offer a clinically accessible and scalable way to modulate systemic metabolism, which may in turn enhance CAR T cell efficacy. In this Review, we examine how metabolism integrates with CAR design, cell production and host conditioning. We highlight opportunities to leverage diet as a promising, underexplored avenue towards overcoming current barriers in treating solid tumours with CAR T cell therapy. Integrating metabolic and dietary strategies may unlock the potential for durable, effective CAR T cell therapy.

Tam Tam grabbed the early lead, dictated the pace along the rail and pulled away through the final furlong to win by 2 1/2 lengths Saturday in the Grade 1, $750,000 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes at Keeneland.

The University of Texas was dominated by Ohio State for three quarters when they met in the marquee matchup of the opening week of the 2026 college football season. Texas opened the fourth quarter by finishing a 15-play drive for a touchdown and holding Ohio State to a quick three-and-out. Though Ohio State still had a 13-point lead at that point, Texas had seized all of the momentum, and most of those watching could sense that Texas was going to complete the comeback and win.

Emphatic looks like the kind of horse who should win a Breeders’ Cup. She has the breeding. She has an undefeated record. She just won over the very course and distance where the $2 million Juvenile Fillies will be run Friday.
