The head of Missouri’s GOP party is calling on the party’s nominee for the 161 st district state rep. race to drop out of the November election.

A body is pulled from the Missouri River and investigators are working to i-d the remains. The call came in Friday afternoon. The body was pulled from the river near the Noren Access around 3:30.

Gas continues to go up and up. And diesel is even worse. A gallon of gas in Mid – Missouri is around $3.83 with some Jefferson City stations getting closer to $4. Diesel in Missouri is right around $5.55 a gallon. Gas in Missouri was around $2.90 a gallon last September.

Some Jefferson City car break – ins are solved with an arrest. Sajan Karki is accused of breaking into cars earlier this month. Police say Karki was found with items taken from the cars, credit and debit cards and lots of cash.

A man accused of pointing a rifle at some teens in Jefferson City is looking at gun charges. Five juveniles told police that Cassius Bello aimed the gun at them during a car chase near Dix Road Saturday. No one was hurt.

While U-S Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh rejected a stay requested by Missouri’s attorney general and other GOP leaders, a federal judge in St. Louis has issued a temporary restraining order (TRO) for two weeks that prevents the Secretary of State from using any Missouri congressional map other than the one approved by the GOP-controlled Legislature in September 2025.

Secretary of State Denny Hoskins has been ordered to appear before the Missouri Supreme Court Thursday morning. He will explain why he shall not be held in contempt of the High Court for telling election officials to use the congressional map that the court instructed him not to use. He’s to appear at 10-am Thursday.

Should a city – owned facility undercut privately – owned venues that provide similar services? John Ruth, the owner of the Berry Barn Farms, a Cole County wedding facility, told the Parks and Recreation Commission that the fees the city is now charging for the use of the new River Market are lower than what he and other centers charge for private events.
