Frontier has been leading the way on deep yet accessible sim games for some time. From the first Planet Zoo to Planet Coaster, it’s pretty much cornered the market in the genre, creating something that’s as fun-loving as a Bullfrog game from the 90s but with the depth and realism of a much more serious sim. Of course, Planet Zoo 2, out on PC and consoles on 13th October, is much more of the same, only bigger and better – and if you’re a fan of what the company has made so far, you’re going to love it.

Hey, devs: Stop announcing your games so early

Blizzcon happened this weekend, and it brought two major announcements with it: Diablo 5, and a new StarCraft game. Cool, exciting stuff – except the release windows that have been tacked onto them are 2029 and 2030, respectively. I instantly despaired. I don’t know if it’s my age, or if it’s the state of the world we’re currently in, but I absolutely cannot comprehend anything three or four years away from now, least of all a video game.
