TROUTVILLE — Alli Johnson ran a 5K time of 26:22 for Bath County High School last Wednesday in the season-opening Blue Ridge Invitational at the Greenfield Recreation Park. Johnson, the only varsity runner for BCHS, finished 32nd in the 66-runner 5K field.

STAUNTON — Boys Home evened its fall soccer record at 1-1 on the season here Tuesday night, defeating VSDB, 4-3. Nazayah Harmond and Taylor Vernon both scored two goals for the Bears, while Ryan Lanz added one. Boys Home started the season last Friday, losing a 5-3 match-up with Appalachian Christian Academy in Stuarts Draft.

Tuesday, the two teams gathered for an area match at Cliff View Golf Club, with a combined 27 players competing. The Cougars won the varsity matchup, 174-190.
SWOOPE — Bath County won the opening set, but fell in four to the girls from Buffalo Gap, 16-25, 25-23, 25-17, 26-24, in a non-district volleyball match Tuesday night. Charger stat leaders included Reaghan Pritt with 14 digs, nine kills and eight aces, and Cassidee Nicely with 31 assists and 14 digs.

BLACKSBURG — The Bath County golf team completed a Pioneer District regular season sweep last Wednesday at “The Hill.” The Chargers put four golfers in the 40s, and shot a season-low 180, posting an 11-shot win over Narrows on the Blacksburg Municipal Course in the final Pioneer match of the season.
