German flag carrier Lufthansa has been forced to change the name of its controversial ‘Green Fares' after a Cologne court ruled that they deceived passengers into believing they could fly on its planes without making any impact on CO₂ emissions.

Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines have been fined a combined $425,000 for flying through Iraqi airspace at an altitude that is prohibited by U.S. federal regulations. While both airlines aren't normally required to comply with U.S. regulations on flights over Iraq, the rules did apply to them because they were operating so-called ‘codeshare' flights with Delta Air Lines.
