Given Matt John's coverage focus on basketball, particularly the NBA with a significant emphasis on expert commentary and announcements, he would likely be most receptive to pitches that offer exclusive insights into player reactions to game outcomes, trade rumors involving key players or teams, and analysis of controversial calls made during games.
If you have access to players or coaches who can provide unique perspectives on recent game controversies, insider information about potential trades or team strategies, your pitch is more likely to catch his attention. Additionally, considering the presence of entertainment news in his coverage attributes it may also be effective to pitch stories that intersect between sports and entertainment.
