Sahil’s parents, Ravindra and Sonali Wakode, had arrived at the campus to pay homage to their son, who died on September 18. His father also submitted a letter to the institute’s Registrar.

Patil was found in his room on the second floor of Hostel 5 on the ICT's Matunga campus. The incident is believed to have occurred between 10 pm and midnight.
