In advance of the possibility of near tropical storm winds for the southern portions of Acadiana, the National Hurricane Center upgraded the tropical Storm Watch to a warning late Wednesday afternoon.

Tropical Storm Bertha moved inland into Southeast Texas this afternoon and is weakening, so it'll be back to high summer heat for Acadiana in the days ahead.

Increasingly hotter temperatures are expected for Acadiana this weekend, and will amplify into early next week, but changes in the pattern are expected to ease the heat by the end of next week.

High summer heat and humidity will continue for Acadiana, with some relief coming in the form of scattered storms later this week into the weekend.

Acadiana will continue to experience the usual late July/early August heat and humidity, but with any luck, scattered storms into this weekend could ease some of the intensity of that heat.

Acadiana will continue to experience the hot summer weather pattern into the weekend, but some storms Saturday night may lower the furnace slightly for Sunday.

The chance and coverage of scattered afternoon showers and typical summer thunderstorms should improve over the next couple of days, giving us some relief from the heat, but not the humidity.

More scattered showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast for Acadiana Thursday holding temperatures down, while there is more encouraging news regarding this hurricane season.

Tropical Depression #5 looks to become Tropical Storm Edouard tonight and bring it's primary impacts to Southeast Texas Tuesday...with Acadiana benefiting from the return of scattered showers and thunderstorms.
