Magical Trickster wore down Marvellous Marvin in the final furlong to land Sunday’s $150,000 Frost King, the first of two seven-furlong Ontario-sired stakes for 2-year-olds on the Woodbine card.

Jockey Emma-Jayne Wilson and leading trainer Mark Casse have combined to win 11 races at the Woodbine meet. They will team up in Thursday’s featured conditioned allowance/optional claimer with the favored Charmingly Evasive, who’s aiming for her third win in a row in the six-furlong main turf sprint.

The fast worker Gray Dee One returns from a layoff in Friday's Woodbine headliner for nonwinners-of-two Ontario-sired allowance types and $40,000 claimers. She looks good to go in the seven-furlong Tapeta sprint that lured seven other fillies and mares.

Olivia Rose is the clear speed in Saturday's $150,000 Eternal Search Stakes at Woodbine. Can she stay the 7 1/2-furlong distance on the inner turf? We shall see.

The late bloomer Ciunas made his first start for trainer Miguel Clement a winning one in Sunday’s $150,000 Overskate Stakes at Woodbine, under a patient ride from Pietro Moran.

Grayosh could only manage third as the clear-cut favorite behind the front-running longshot Mischief in Motion in the Sept. 26 All Along Stakes at Laurel. They will meet again Friday at Belmont in the $175,000 Athenia Stakes, a 1 1/8-mile inner turf route for fillies and mares.

Elissa's Macho's string of second-place finishes ended last time out when she had a troubled trip going long on the inner turf. She goes back to the Tapeta in Friday's third race at Woodbine, a hybrid maiden route for Ontario-sired and $40,000 claimers where she could go favored.

Cugino usually acquits himself well off a layoff and could score off the bench in the 65th running of the Knickerbocker, the first of two $175,000 turf stakes on Saturday's Belmont card along with the Key Cents.

Mrs D never made it into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint field after she was pre-entered, much to the dismay of trainer Steve Chircop. Among a five-horse field of fillies, she goes long for the first time in Sunday's Grade 3 Mazarine, the first of two $175,000 stakes on the Woodbine card for 2-year-olds, along with the Grade 3 Grey.

Ontario disappointed as the favorite when she shipped back to her native Ontario and ran fourth in Woodbine’s restricted Belfountain Stakes on Sept. 13. She made amends with a longshot score in Friday’s $175,000 Athenia Stakes at Belmont under a ground-saving ride from Dylan Davis.
