Seasonal changes in the environment significantly influence phytoplankton dynamics in tropical coastal ecosystems. This study examined seasonal changes in physicochemical parameters, nutrient stoichiometry, and phytoplankton communities along the West Bengal coastal region of the northern Bay of Bengal, India. Water samples were gathered from twenty coastal locations during the pre-monsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon periods from February 2024 to January 2025. Diversity indices and multivariate statistical methods were employed to analyze environmental parameters and the structure of phytoplankton communities. The findings revealed significant seasonal fluctuations in salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), chlorophyll-a (Chl-a), and nutrient levels, primarily influenced by the influx of freshwater during the monsoon and stabilization afterward. Nutrient stoichiometry showed ongoing nitrogen limitation, as N: P ratios remained consistently beneath the Redfield ratio, whereas silicate availability supported diatom predominance. In total, 22 genera of phytoplankton were identified, primarily diatoms such as Asterionellopsis spp, Ditylum spp, Nitzschia spp, Odontella spp, and Coscinodiscus spp. Chl-a exhibited a notable positive correlation with phytoplankton density (r = 0.673, p = 0.001). Diversity indices showed fairly stable and varied phytoplankton communities characterized by high evenness and low dominance. Multivariate analyses revealed that chl-a, salinity, dissolved oxygen, and dissolved inorganic nitrogen are the primary factors influencing phytoplankton communities. Seasonal assessments indicated notable yet overlapping community diversity across different seasons. The study emphasizes the significance of environmental gradients and nutrient dynamics influenced by monsoons in controlling coastal phytoplankton succession and productivity in the northern Bay of Bengal.

Zygomatic and pterygoid implants are reliable graft less options for severely atrophic maxilla rehabilitation. These implant configurations have been explored in many finite element and experimental biomechanical investigations; however, the evidence is scattered, and a systematic review has not been done to analyze their biomechanical performance to thoroughly assess the biomechanical performance of zygomatic and pterygoid implants for severely atrophic maxillae. The systematic review followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines and was registered in PROSPERO (CRD420251130553). We searched PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar since database establishment to June 2026. Stress distribution, strain, implant displacement, micromotion, load transfer, prosthetic framework stress, and peri-implant bone stress were assessed using finite element models and experimental biomechanical tests. Methodological quality was assessed using the ROBFEAD and QUIN tool of risk assessment Thirteen studies were included. Most were finite element analyses, with 2 biomechanics experiments. While isolated zygomatic implants had lower peri-implant stress than pterygoid implants, coupled zygomatic-pterygoid implants improved posterior load transfer, cantilever effects, biomechanical stability, and implant micromotion. The available biomechanical evidence suggests that implant distribution and posterior support may substantially influence mechanical behavior under simulated loading conditions. Combined zygomatic-pterygoid configurations generally demonstrated more favorable load sharing, reduced cantilever-related stress and lower micromotion in the investigated models. However, these findings represent relative biomechanical trends derived predominantly from computational simulations and should not be interpreted as evidence of superior clinical survival or treatment success. Standardized biomechanical studies and prospective clinical investigations are required to determine their clinical relevance.

The advent of Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has made it necessary to exchange electronic health records (EHRs) across distributed healthcare entities in a manner that ensures their authentication and preserves patients’ privacy. This paper proposes the Federated and Blockchain-enabled Electronic Health Record (FBEHR) framework whose major contribution is the Improved Universal Designated Verifier Signature Proof (IUDVSP). Different from all other pairing-based UDVSP schemes, the suggested solution uses elliptic curve arithmetic compatible with ECDSA to ensure signer authenticity, designated-verifier privacy, and verification control without employing bilinear pairings. According to our experiments in the × 86 edge-server environment, IUDVSP takes 0.22 ms to generate signatures and 0.28 ms to verify them. While these results are below 2-4 ms that we take as the cost of one pairing operation in the adopted reference architecture, they are not the result of a direct same-platform performance comparison of the suggested algorithm with a complete pairing-based UDVSP protocol. The framework also features blockchain-based EHR registration, validation, access, revocation and federated ANN-LSTM-based malicious-user detection. In an internal evaluation of the suggested system, activation of edge processing results in the mean registration and validation latency reduction from 9.87 to 3.59 s which corresponds to the 62.76% latency improvement relative to the same framework but without edge processing. Performance of the FBEHR relative to existing baselines is similar; thus, the primary benefit of FBEHR is its pairing-free designated-verifier security, not latency improvement over those systems. An estimation of the total cost of ownership for a month-long period of FBEHR deployment gives us USD 1850 for the considered FBEHR architecture and USD 12,500 for the same architecture but centralized. This difference of 85.2% is calculated based on a model and is not the experimental performance cost reduction.
