A new poll from UMBC shows only one-fourth of likely voters are in favor of a proposed redistricting constitutional change. But 60% of respondents think Maryland should convert to an open primary state.

For a second time under UMBC polling, Moore’s job approval rating sits just under 50%, while 81% of likely voters say economic conditions over the past year have been poor or fair. Only 17% said economic conditions were excellent or good.

A new UMBC poll finds Gov. Wes Moore’s job approval rating is relatively steady but shows Marylanders are increasingly concerned about the state of the economy.

PJM, the electric grid operator for Maryland and twelve other states, asked the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to approve a proposal that would have shut off data centers first when on the verge of a blackout. Federal regulators rejected the idea, arguing states should be the ones implementing curtailment rules.

In an effort to boost in-state generation and lower utility bills in the out years, the Maryland Energy Administration is starting to accept applications for its “Megawatts for Maryland” program. The program’s funds will be distributed through a competitive auction, selecting the projects that deliver the most megawatt-hours of electricity per dollar.
