State Police Say the Cessna Came In From Behind at Carlisle. Two Troopers Got Out Through a Window.

A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter was sitting a few feet above the grass beside a runway at Carlisle Regional Airport on Wednesday evening when a Cessna 150 lined up on that runway, turned sharply and hit it from the rear, Acting Commissioner Lt. Col. George Bivens said at a briefing hours later. The Cessna’s pilot, believed to be the only person aboard, died at the scene. The two troopers in the helicopter were hurt and are expected to recover.
