Its early doors for the National Hunt season so I am treading carefully for now, but I just can’t resist the chances of Catchinsavo in the 4.05pm at Cheltenham and I am keeping my fingers crossed that we get a half-decent price.

Once again we see an Aidan O’Brien hotpot heading the market at a short price, this time by the name of Bengal tiger, a thrice raced son of No Nay Never who was last seen winning a Naas maiden by 12 lengths after making every post a winning one.

Luke Littler opened his Machineseeker European Championship title bid with a dazzling 6-3 victory over William O’Connor on Friday, as debutant Kevin Doets dumped out Michael van Gerwen in round one. Littler’s hunt for the only Premier title that eludes him began in Dortmund in impressive fashion, recording a 105.05 average – the best of the tournament so far.

This may “only” be a maiden hurdle but it features some promising sorts headed by the Paul Nicholls trained Order On Time, a £200,000 son of Order Of St George who looked well above average when winning his bumper at the second attempt by ten lengths at Chepstow, leading three out and drawing clear of the field.

Luke Littler recorded the second-highest average in Machineseeker European Championship history to continue his title charge in Dortmund, as reigning champion Gian van Veen became the latest big-name casualty at the Westfalenhalle on Saturday.

It’s a horror of day as far as I can see but I have dug out a couple with CHANCES though on a scale of 1-10 for confidence to be honest they don’t rate that highly!

Leicester put on a so-so Flat card starting with the 1.07pm but I will be patient and only have a bet in the 207pm, a lowly class six nursery.

Ross Smith won the 2026 Machineseeker European Championship after defeating Martin Schindler 11-8 in the final in Dortmund on Sunday. Smith – whose first Premier title came in Dortmund four years ago – doubled his trophy tally at the Westfallenhalle with a stellar run of performances, including victory over Schindler in the showpiece.

No need to hang around this Tuesday with Bangor’s second race seeing Dan Skelton sending the likeable Rattlin Home to hurdles for the first time in the 2.16pm.

At the time of writing Bangor appear to have missed the worst of the weather and if they get the go ahead as hoped then I will be having a few quid on top-weight Court Cien in the hope she is fit enough to do herself justice on her first start since March last year.
