Ondine Sherman is an author, animal protection advocate, and PhD candidate in sociology and Critical Animal Studies at the University of Sydney. In 2004, she cofounded Voiceless, an animal protection institute, where she continues to serve as managing director. Her research explores how human relationships with animals shape moral values, worldviews, and social change. Sherman is the author of Vegan Living: A Simple Guide to a Cruelty-Free, Healthy Plant-Based Life and the young adult Animal Allies series. She sits on the board of Thrive Philanthropy, has served as the editor of Animail, the magazine of the Australasian Animal Studies Association, and has spoken widely on animal advocacy, ethics, and critical animal studies.
