Running back Cam Cook was brought to the podium this week for West Virginia football's weekly media. Like quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr., Cook usually does media just after games, but this week, he did media because this was a special week for him. This was the first time Cook returned to TCU since transferring.
TCU had West Virginia football on its heels. The Horned Frogs had the ball on the Mountaineers' 14-yard line down 24-20 with just under a minute to play. The defense needed a stop. On second and 10, TCU quarterback Jaden Craig dropped back to pass, and the defense swallowed him. Craig fumbled the ball, and in the scrum, linebacker Ben Cutter came up with the football.

MORGANTOWN (W.Va.) — West Virginia quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. had a lot of fans at the TCU game. Hawkins is from Dallas, which isn't too far from Fort Worth, so he had a big ensemble cheering him on.
West Virginia football headed to Fort Worth and picked up the win over TCU, 24-20, on a last-minute defensive stand. The win handed the Mountaineers back-to-back wins, moving them to 5-3, heading into the long-awaited bye. WVU is one of the few remaining teams in college football who haven't had an open date.
MORGANTOWN -- There wasn't a bigger pressure situation for West Virginia football's defense than in the final minutes against TCU.

MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia football has a lot to do during the bye week. The Mountaineers have to fix the on-the-field issues, correcting the defense and eliminating mental errors. There are also contract negotiations ongoing with WVU and some of the top players on the team, like quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr.

MORGANTOWN -- West Virginia football is currently resting on its long-awaited bye week. It's time to rest and finally focus on internal matters, rather than preparing to play an opponent this weekend.

MORGANTOWN -- It's hard to believe there are just four games left for West Virginia football in the regular season. It feels like just yesterday I was predicting who the starting quarterback was going to be, and now, it seems crazy that the answer was anything other than Michael Hawkins Jr. That doesn't take anything away from Scotty Fox Jr. Hawkins has just been that good.
