SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A 30-year old Sioux Falls man is being held on kidnapping and assault charges. Sgt. Aaron Benson says Taylor Winedar is accused of holding a woman captive in an apartment at 12th and Charlotte and assaulting her numerous times – holding her hostage for more than a week. “The victim was held against her will by the suspect in the apartment since July 31st. The suspect had broken the victim’s phone and prevented her from leaving the apartment, as well as strangling her and holding a knife to her throat.”
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A Des Moines man faces several charges after an early Saturday morning shooting in downtown Sioux Falls. Teckeze Kalia was allegedly part of a large group fighting outside a business at 11th Street and 1st Avenue at about 1am Saturday. Sgt Aaron Benson says Kalia fled the scene in a vehicle and led police on a short pursuit. “A witness saw the driver throw a handgun out of the window, which landed on the road, and was collected by officers. A short pursuit started with this vehicle and officers were able to get the vehicle stopped near 14th and 2nd Avenue. ”
