Vikram Solar's upcoming 9 GW TOPCon cell plant in Gangaikondan is set to be one of India's largest single-site solar cell manufacturing facilities. Co-located with the company's PV module plant, it marks a key step towards end-to-end solar manufacturing, with ingot and wafer production planned as the next phase.

India has 86 GWh of operational downstream battery storage manufacturing capacity, while identified cell manufacturing capacity across operational, under-construction, and announced projects totals 110 GWh, according to Mercom India.

Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from a domestic independent power producer for the turnkey execution of a 450 MWp solar power project in Bikaner district. The project is scheduled for completion in FY2027–28.

The proposed facility in Karjan is expected to commence operations in Q1 FY 2027–28. It is designed to produce approximately 1,000 battery storage containers annually, with initial configurations of 5 MWh and 6 MWh per container.

ACME Marigold Urja, a wholly owned subsidiary of ACME Solar Holdings, has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC Ltd for a 400 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) power project.

The commissioning marks IndiGrid’s third utility-scale BESS project to become operational. AmpereHour Energy served as the technology partner for the project.

The solar plant is developed across a single hill at an elevation of more than 5000 feet above sea level.
