Hayden Panettiere's mother is facing intense public backlash after speaking out on the actress' sudden death. It's been confirmed that the DEA has joined the investigation into Hayden's passing, as her mom and former manager Lesley Vogel continues to be scrutinized over comments she made about Hayden. The pair had been estranged for years, with Hayden noting in multiple interviews and in her memoir the intense pressure she felt from her mom beginning at a young age. In an unearthed Access Hollywood interview from 2007, the pair showcase an authentic yet positive glimpse in to their relationship at the time – a sharp departure from the turbulent dynamic they'd had in years since.

Hayden Panettiere's mom is speaking out on camera. In her first TV interview since her daughter's death at 36, Lesley Vogel choked up recalling to ABC News how she felt when she heard Hayden had passed away. “I was numb. I was just numb. I just couldn't feel anything. I still am not grasping this is real,” she said in part. Hayden had previously opened up about how she and her mom were estranged, including detailing their complicated relationship in her 2026 memoir “This is Me: A Reckoning.” During the interview, Vogel, who had also served as Hayden's manager until the actress was 19, commented on their relationship. “I would say Hayden had a very happy life up until she got 'Heroes' at 16. So here she was, the star of a major TV series. But I would say at about 17, I started seeing her going downhill as she got older. Then it wasn't my voice anymore. I wasn't in charge of her choices,” she claimed. Vogel additionally disputed her daughter's version of events when Hayden recalled in her memoir that Vogel said “You owe me” when Hayden told her she didn't want her to manage her anymore. “I remember being in her trailer and literally saying nothing... I know I didn't say what she said I said,” Vogel shared. Vogel also weighed in on the estrangement from her daughter, claiming that it was because Hayden had reconnected with on-and-off abusive boyfriend Brian Hickerson, who was with Hayden at the time of her death, and ultimately gave her daughter an ultimatum at the advice of her therapist.

The world is still reeling over the loss of music icon and cultural powerhouse Dolly Parton, who died Aug. 25 at age 80. It's now confirmed that she'd passed after a brief battle with cancer amid kidney and autoimmune issues, but Dolly's signature optimism about her health setbacks in the months leading up to her death had many believing she'd be just fine.

Jelly Roll is speaking out about his political views. The Grammy winner stepped in for a one-week guest hosting stint on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and explained in his Aug. 27 monologue that he has been looking forward to getting some "very personal stuff" off his chest, alluding to his personal politics. The 41-year-old singer said the speculation over this topic actually goes back to the 2026 Grammys in February, where he won three awards. At the time, several winners used their time on stage to weigh in on hot-button issues, most notably condemning Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations. Jelly Roll, however, opted to not comment on the matter which led to some blowback. Now, months later, he explained on the late-night show why he didn't speak up at the time. He also clarified where he stands politically, telling the audience, "I'm going to try to do the right thing right now, because human dignity isn't Republican or Democrat. Compassion isn't left wing and mercy isn't right wing. Pain and healing know no partisanship. Hurting hearts are more important than poll numbers, and there are no boundaries or borders for broken families." Jelly Roll also ended his monologue by clearing the air about his controversial meeting with President Donald Trump.

Jim Curtis is sharing his gratitude for his relationship with Jennifer Aniston. The hypnotherapist appeared on the Aug. 31 episode of "The Jamie Kern Lima Show" where he reflected on how “blessed” he feels to be with the actress. “It's going really well. It's my experience of her is so grounded and so open and caring and kind and loving, right. And so, she uses words like 'my love' or, and you know, she has this group of best friends that are like family. And so, I feel incredibly blessed to be part and welcomed into that family. And I feel blessed to be, you know, in a relationship with someone that is so open hearted and, you know, kind and loving,” he said. Curtis went on to explain how welcomed he feels by Aniston's friends, describing them as “grounded” and “so kind.” “And it's not just to me. There's a reason why that whole group and community is so beloved. You know, everything that kind of those - it's all true,” he added.
