It also serves as a vital fundraiser, helping the group educate the community on the warning signs and share the message that no one is alone, and help is always available. TIFTON, Ga. – Hospice of Tift Area has earned a 5-star rating for the fifth consecutive refresh period. “This accomplishment further recognizes our team's continued commitment to quality, compassionate care,” said Tressie Mathis, Director of Hospice of Tift Area and Southwell Palliative Care Services.

The annual golf tournament is Friday, September 25th, at Stone Creek Golf Course, and proceeds support Valdosta Rotary Club's contributions to strengthen the local community through literacy initiatives, scholarships, and assistance for families in need.

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Braves Foundation hosted the annual Patriot Day 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Truist Park on Saturday, September 5th. The event was the largest in the five years that it's been hosted at Truist Park. Over 1000 people climbed the stairs of the ballpark's seating bowl to honor and remember the lives of first responders and individuals impacted by the attacks, many wearing lanyards with names and photos of those who lost their lives that day. Participants climbed over 2,000 steps, symbolizing the 110 flights of stairs the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters took to ascend the World Trade Center in their search and rescue efforts on 9/11.

ATLANTA, Ga. – Thanks to the non-profit Starlight Children's Foundation, Lollipop Theater Network and Paramount, a special visitor brought movie magic to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Arthur M. Blank Hospital last week. Actress Mckenna Grace, known for her recent roles in Scream 7 and Five Nights at Freddy's 2 , surprised patients and their families at a special screening of the new Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie in The Zone, an activity center in the hospital where kids can just be kids. She voices the character Skye in the movie, which is currently still in theaters.

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) has confirmed two additional measles cases associated with the outbreak at a metro Atlanta daycare. This brings the outbreak total to 10 cases. Including these additional cases, Georgia has 16 confirmed measles cases so far in 2026. DPH continues to work to identify and notify individuals who may have been exposed to measles.

This cultural festival includes exhibits, live music, and food, representing the rich variety of Spanish-language culture. Expo Latino also presents educational resources and showcases many area organizations and businesses.
