An overall nice day is expected Wednesday, with a mix of sun and clouds. High temperatures look to bounce back into the lower 80s. We could see a stray shower or thunderstorm after sunset, but most activity should hold off until after midnight tonight. Even then, rain chances will be pretty scattered. A few showers and storms will be likely on Thursday, though there will be plenty of breaks in the action and sunshine at times. We’re all back to mostly sunny skies for Friday. The final weekend of August is looking nice with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the upper-70s to lower-80s. Tuesday is the first day of September and we start off the month with highs in the lower 80s and the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm.

An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible Thursday, but most areas won’t see much in the way of rain. Highs will be slightly cooler than yesterday, reaching the upper-70s. Friday will feature partly cloudy skies and the coolest high temperatures of the next seven days, in the mid-70s. For the weekend, expect partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the lower-80s. Humidity increases for Monday and Tuesday as highs climb into the mid-80s. A stray shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out, but most areas will stay dry to start the week. Chances for a shower or thunderstorm increase slightly on Wednesday, with highs in the lower-80s.

Friday will feature a great supply of sunshine with cooler high temperatures in the mid-70s.

Expect a great day today, with mostly sunny skies and highs around 80. More clouds are on the way for Sunday, but dry weather is expected prior to sunset.

Mainly dry weather is expected during the day Sunday, though we could see an isolated shower or thunderstorm develop, mainly in the afternoon, as a warm front approaches the area. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are then expected Sunday night. Some of these storms could produce locally heavy rainfall. The Weather Prediction Center has placed our area in a marginal risk for excessive rainfall, meaning isolated flash flooding is possible. Areas that see heavy rain should be very localized. Some areas may stay completely dry. Highs Sunday should reach the lower-80s. Monday will be a mostly dry day, but a shower or thunderstorm could linger. Highs will increase to the mid-80s. Tuesday looks like the warmest day of the week, with highs in the mid to upper-80s and very high humidity. Dewpoints in the lower-70s will make it feel more like the low to mid-90s. Tuesday and Wednesday should also feature primarily dry conditions, but an isolated shower or thunderstorm can’t be ruled out. Our best chance of showers and storms for the upcoming work week comes Thursday ahead of a cold front.

With a warm front stalling out to our north, there will be occasional opportunities for showers and thunderstorms this week, though it won’t be raining all the time. Expect a good chance of showers and storms tonight, some of which could produce locally heavy rainfall. Monday should feature a general drying trend throughout the day, but the chance for an isolated shower or storm is still there. Tuesday is another day when it’s expected to be mainly dry, but an isolated shower or storm can’t be ruled out. Rain and thunderstorm chances look higher for Wednesday and Thursday as a cold front gets closer to the area. Apart from the rain chances, humidity will really pick up to start the week, especially for Tuesday, when we expect highs in the mid-80s and dewpoints in the lower-70s to make it feel more like the lower-90s. Behind the cold front, highs are expected to cool to the mid to upper-70s for Friday through next weekend. Right now, the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend are expected to feature mostly sunny skies.

We can’t totally rule out a stray shower today into Sunday morning, but if this happens at all, it would be very brief and very light. For most of us, all we’ll notice this weekend is the sunshine. We’ll start to warm things up back toward around 80 again by Tuesday, then into the mid-80s for Wednesday. As another cold front approaches the region, we could start to see an isolated shower or thunderstorm Wednesday toward the afternoon, with better chances overnight. Thursday and Friday will cool down to the lower-70s.
