The regular season is over, but fantasy football fun for diehards continues in Guillotine leagues. Make sure you draft an equal number of players from both conferences. In this battle of attrition, the best strategy is to pick from teams you think will advance. I feel strongly about (in order) the Rams, Eagles, Seahawks and Bills winning their first games and beyond, so stacking players from those rosters makes sense. Remember that the No. 1 seeds, Seattle and Denver, have a bye this week. Good luck in the fantasy football's “season after the season.”

Last month I attended the Fantasy Sports and Gaming Association (FSGA) conference in Philadelphia. Over 250 Fantasy sports analysts, radio personalities, business owners, entrepreneurs, podcasters and business executives (including Fantasy's latest billionaire, Nigel Eccles, founder and former CEO of FanDuel) were in attendance. With draft season now in full swing, let's get down to business. Here are a few Sleepers and Busts worth keeping in your back pocket before you're on the clock.

The Fantasy Football Draft is that magical stretch of hours where friends, enemies and division nemesis all cram into one room to sling insults with the confidence of seasoned analysts. But they are not without their faults. There's always an owner who brings six Fantasy magazines, an owner who brings a large roast beef sub and an owner who doesn't bring his entry fee. There's also the owner that heads to the bathroom just before it's their turn to pick, making 11 pissed drafters yell, “Who's on the clock?!!”. And the draft wouldn't be complete without the owner that drafts not one, but TWO defenses.

Faithful readers of this column know I am a long-time Buffalo Bills fan, which is odd since I'm a Jersey guy. But my Bills fandom seems to be contagious.

If your league hasn't drafted yet, congratulations. You have injury and lineup information that earlier drafting leagues were not privy to. The trick now is what to do with this plethora of NFL information. Keep in mind that coaches lie, and a player will always say, “I feel great!” even if his knee is holding on by its last tendon. Therefore, don't make any knee-jerk reactions. Be sure to go into your draft well prepared. Here's a few last-minute pieces of advice.

There are many famous breakouts in history. John Dillinger broke out of the heavily guarded Lake County Jail using a fake pistol made from wood and covered in black shoe polish. Frank Morris and brothers John and Clarence Anglin broke out of Alcatraz by digging holes in the prison walls using spoons from the cafeteria. The Earl of Nithsdale broke out of the Tower of London by dressing as a lady-in-waiting and slipping past the guards. All these breakouts had one thing in common: they were unexpected. You can expect the unexpected with the following list of eight breakout players for 2026.

One of the longtime members of our Fantasy Football League, the OFFL, just pulled off the ultimate draft-day steal. My nephew Colin married his longtime girlfriend, Kara, in Spring Lake, N.J., on Tuesday. Kara is beautiful, smart, and I'm pretty sure she could run a 40-yard dash in under four seconds. How Colin landed this five-star prospect remains a mystery to the rest of us. They met at Wake Forest University, not exactly a football powerhouse, where Colin found the greatest prize in the ACC. Congrats Colin. You just landed a first-round pick for life. Good luck to the happy couple and to all Fantasy teams as we head into Week 1. Giddy up!
