Several people charged with operating under the influence, two involving accidents

On Sept. 24, police received a report of an unresponsive woman in a private park. Police located the woman, who showed signs of a possible overdose. She regained consciousness and suspected narcotics were found during a search. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated and a felony drug charge.
A man found a bank deposit bag containing cash and turned it in at the police department on Sept. 13.

On Oct. 4, Westlake police advised that a vehicle involved in an incident in Avon was entering the city. Police located the car and found the juveniles set off fireworks at the GetGo gas station in Avon. When a caller attempted to obtain the vehicle's information, the juveniles became argumentative and threw items at the caller's vehicle. One juvenile was transported to his residence. The others were turned over to their respective police jurisdictions.

On Sept. 28, a park employee reported a driver recklessly operating his Tesla. The operator was charged with criminal mischief and reckless operation.

A woman reported a neighbor was in the road screaming profanities at her on Oct. 17. Another person called and reported the man was blocking the road. Police spoke to the man about the complaints.
A vehicle was traveling east on Heatherwood Circle and struck two parked cars on Oct. 18 around 3:45 am. No injuries were reported.

On Oct. 3, two juveniles entered North Ridgeville High School without permission, stole food, urinated in the building and refused to leave when confronted by the custodian. The suspects face charges of criminal trespassing, disorderly conduct and theft from a coin-operated machine.

A Speedway employee flagged down police around midnight on Oct. 12 and requested increased police presence at the store since the Lakewood Speedway had recently been robbed at gunpoint.

On Oct. 3, a motorist was assaulted by an attendee of a “Stand up Lorain County” protest. The suspect was charged with assault, disorderly conduct-persisting, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging.
