BUCHANAN — Buchanan city commissioners handled a number of items at their meeting this week, including approving a new economic development incentive policy and setting the dates for public hearings.

NILES — Brandywine Board of Education members heard updates on the district’s construction projects and acted on a number of items at their meeting this week.

The Eau Claire Board of Education has a new member after interviews and action at last week’s monthly meeting. New member Susan Martinic was sworn in during last week’s meeting and replaces the late Don Geisler who died in July.

NILES — A Buchanan man who assaulted and stalked his ex-girlfriend and then tried to intimidate her to recant her statements was sentenced to prison this week in Berrien County Trial Court at the Niles courthouse.

Oronoko Charter Township Planning Commission members took up three text amendments after public hearings at their meeting last week and ended up moving forward with recommendations on just one of the three.
