Bath & Body Works White Pumpkin & Chai Fine Fragrance Mist Bath & body works If fall were a Bath & Body Works fragrance, this would be it. It smells like you're walking into your favorite coffee shop on the first genuinely chilly day of the season. It combines cinnamon cider and spiced pumpkin with a sweet vanilla glaze, so yes, it’s very cozy. And at under $20, it’s a gentle reminder that you don't have to spend a ton to smell delicious. I’d keep this one by the door for a quick spritz whenever I’m in the mood to fully commit to my love for pumpkin-spice. From $18 at Bath & Body Works 4. Dries Van Noten Velvet Violet Eau de Parfum bloomingdales Florals for fall? Absolutely, especially when they smell nothing like the sweet, powdery violet you might be imagining. Dries Van Noten’s Velvet Violet takes the flower in a darker, cozier direction, pairing fresh violet leaf with toasted sesame and roasted barley for an unexpectedly nutty warmth. Pink pepper gives the opening a little kick, while tonka bean, benzoin and vetiver settle into something warm and subtly addictive on the skin. Valentino Vendetta Donna Eau de Parfum With Tuberose sephora A fragrance called Vendetta? Say less. Vendetta Donna is for anyone who wants their fall perfume to come with a tiny bit of drama. Fenty Eau de Parfum Sephora This eau de parfum has been a staple of mine for years now, especially when September rolls around. It belongs in the warm florals family, with notes of magnolia, musk and Bulgarian rose. I just love the mix of sweet and spicy—and dare I say it just makes me feel cozy and a bit sexy? I often try to channel my inner RiRi as the brand’s goal is for the scent to attract all the attention and be a statement fragrance in your rotation. Did I mention it comes in a hair perfume , too? FROM $39 AT fenty 7. L’Objet Alento Eau de Parfum L'object Alento is the fragrance equivalent of taking a deep breath and immediately feeling your shoulders drop. Created by perfumer Cécile Zarokian, it opens with bright orange before settling into orange blossom, creamy vanilla, ambergris and soft white musks. I like it because it’s warm and slightly sweet, but not in a sugary way. I especially love it for fall because it has that soft, enveloping quality that’s almost like wrapping yourself in a cashmere sweater . From $265 at L’Object 8. Phlur Vanilla Skin Body & Hair Fragrance Mist Sephora Phlur has plenty of favorite fragrances, but ‘Vanilla Skin’ is a top choice for the season. Geranium, lavandin and rosemary create what Aesop calls a “pure air” accord, while nutmeg adds just enough spice to keep things interesting. There’s also petitgrain, eucalyptus and patchouli in the mix, so the overall effect is green, earthy and a little windswept, just like being outside on a particularly brisk autumn day. Burberry Goddess Amber Vanilla Eau de Parfum Intense sephora The newest take on the Goddess fragrance is warm, sweet and unapologetically gourmand, pairing luminous lavender with a maple syrup accord before settling into roasted vanilla and rich amber. The maple could have easily veered into pancake territory, but instead it gives the vanilla this deep, syrupy warmth that feels sophisticated rather than overly sugary. Initio Parfums Privés Oud For Grace Eau de Parfum saks fifth avenue Oud practically begs to be worn in cooler weather, and Oud for Grace is a particularly good reason to break it out this fall. It starts with bright bergamot and a hit of black pepper before getting warmer and richer with praline, vanilla and, of course, lots of oud. Sandalwood, cedarwood and guaiacwood round things out, but what I like most is the contrast: It’s warm and slightly sweet without losing a smoky, sophisticated edge. From $435 at Saks 12. Chloe Atelier des Fleurs Cedrus de Nuit Eau de Parfum dillards I’m not saying a perfume can make your life more interesting, but Chloé Atelier des Fleurs Cedrus de Nuit is certainly willing to try. Inspired by nights on Paris’s Rive Gauche, it mixes cinnamon, clove and black pepper with the rare Queen of the Night flower, then dries down to dark vanilla, benzoin and cedarwood. Penhaligon The Manoeuvres of the Baroness Eau de Parfum bloomingdales The Manoeuvres of the Baroness sounds like the title of a period drama I would absolutely watch, but it’s actually a creamy new fragrance. Chantilly cream is the star (yes, whipped cream has officially entered its luxury-perfume era), paired with orange blossom before settling into warm sandalwood, geranium and vanilla. Merit Retrospect L’Extrait de Parfum Sephora It’s no secret that PureWow editors love Merit , and their latest fragrance is proof.
