In Kalavasos village, the th Xarkis Festival unfolds from September 11 to 13 with workshops, contemporary performances, traditional crafts, botanical goods, screenings and activities for all ages.

An anticipated foodie event every season, after a brief summer break Fork Food Market is back. Its next event in the Municipal Gardens of Nicosia is set for Friday, September 18, when delicious street food, refreshing drinks, desserts and groovy music will fill the park.

“What can a village tell us about the past of Cyprus, and what might the new stories created there change?” asks the festival team behind Xarkis Festival as this theme lies at the heart of the 12th edition, coming up this weekend.

Outdoor cinema screenings continue in the old town of Nicosia as To Erma presents three more evenings of films in its courtyard. Amid its wooden chairs, colourful plant pots and trees, this bookstore brings back its summer cinema evenings to the heart of town. Three events have been added to September's agenda, every Monday until the end of the month.

Stitched into the Landscape, a new exhibition by artists Andreani Panayides and Vasilis Savvidis, runs from September 11 at the Elyssia Boutique Hotel in Pedoulas until November 11. Supported by the Cultural Decentralisation Programme 2026 of the deputy ministry of culture, the exhibition features free parallel workshops on the technique of Lefkara lace.
