By James Kent One of my favorite scenes in the 1976 film “Rocky” isn’t the training montage, the running up the stairs of the Philadelphia Art Museum, the turtle’s cuff and link, or the climactic fight between Rocky Balboa and Apollo Creed. No, it’s the most important singular scene in the movie.

One thing that bothered me about later iterations of the “Looney Tunes” cartoons from Warner Bros. is that they didn’t generate the same energy, humor, wit, and pathos as the originals.

This Halloween, two great options for horror lovers are available from the comfort of the living room couch. Amazon Prime has the limited series reboot of Stephen King’s “Carrie,” and Peacock offers the prequel series to “Friday the 13th,” “Crystal Lake.” I’ve watched them both, and each offers new and fresh takes on these horror institutions.

The governorship split in the U.S. currently stands at 26 Republicans and 24 Democrats. Democrats last held a majority of governorships in 2006, 20 years ago. Holding a majority provides national political leverage. At a time when protecting rights enshrined in our Constitution matters more than ever, holding a state majority means something.
