Bend, Ore (KTVZ) – Warmer pattern is expected to begin today as the region dries out from the rainy weekend. Sunday's high in Bend was only 59 after hitting 70 on Saturday. Labor Day is going to be sunny and dry with highs in the middle 60s. This week the highs will be in the 70s Tuesday then top out in the 80s Wednesday and Thursday followed by the 70s on Friday.

Today will be the peak heating day with highs in the upper 80s, possibly a low 90 or two in northern Jefferson County. Overall, the pattern is clear and dry as a ridge of high pressure in the desert southwest expands west and a ridge over the eastern Pacific expands east, creating a warm pocket of air for Central Oregon.

The timing of the rain has been slowed somewhat as the advent of the wet weather is likely to be in the afternoon. This rain will be steady and beneficial with a very low chance, not zero, of some thunderstorms.
