This week, the second and final one of the October sitting, the justices heard two oral arguments and added three cases to the oral argument docket while continuing to manage emergency applications. We’re expecting an order list on Monday, but, after that, things should be a little quieter at One First Street until the November sitting begins on Nov. 2.

Readers in the Washington, D.C., area may know that the Marine Corps Marathon will take place on Saturday. What may come as a surprise to even them, however, is that Clarence Thomas is among its “ famous finishers.” He ran the race in 1980 – 11 years before he joined the Supreme Court – and clocked an impressive time of 3:11:00, according to the event website.
