One of the most rewarding parts of my job as City Manager is the opportunity to meet people who dedicate their time, talent and passion to making Santa Clarita an extraordinary place to live, work and play.

Old Town Newhall has always been more than a destination. It is a place where neighbors gather, families make memories and local businesses pour their time, energy and dreams into creating something special for our community.

As parents, we want to give our children the tools they need to make good decisions and stay safe.

Safety is our number one priority in the city of Santa Clarita and when it comes to severe weather, preparation is one of the most important things we can do to protect our residents, neighborhoods and infrastructure.

The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here. Years ago, the dream of bringing a roller-skating facility to Santa Clarita was a mere concept shared by our City Council and community.

Ken Striplin Ken Striplin is the City Manager for the City of Santa Clarita. Ken has worked for the City of Santa Clarita since 1996, serving in a leadership capacity in every City department during his tenure.

Each October, the State of the City event gives us an opportunity to reflect on what we have accomplished and look ahead to what is next. While the projects and programs are important, what makes me most proud is the organization and people behind them.

Santa Clarita became a city nearly 40 years ago because residents wanted a greater voice in the decisions affecting our community. They wanted local control and elected representatives who lived here, understood the community and were accessible to the people they served.

There are many city services working behind the scenes each day to keep Santa Clarita safe, clean and beautiful.
