She graduated from Pasadena High School before going to Watterson College to study legal secretarial which led her to work at the non-profit the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. She has since raised 5 children in Santa Clarita where she continues to assist the community and work with local nonprofits. Carmen also shares details about the work that Family Promise does to help struggling families find stable housing.

On this episode of SCV 101, host Bill Miranda brings on Carissa Lataillade, a licensed marriage and family therapist, to learn about her upbringing in Southern California and how her family eventually moved to Santa Clarita. She graduated from Academy of the Canyons, and then attended higher education at College of the Canyons, CSUN, and Pepperdine University. Carissa then did her training with Los Angeles County before starting her own practice here in Santa Clarita where she helps individuals and couples with marriage and family therapy.
