Asbury Park, N.J. – Fresh off the heels of PETA’s viral lobster display at the Maine Lobster Festival, a nearly nude PETA supporter body-painted as a lobster will lead an eye-popping plea on Friday outside Cousins Maine Lobster Restaurant, urging the eatery to stop killing crustaceans. Beneath a banner proclaiming, “No One Wants to Be Boiled Alive,” a chef will drag the struggling, screaming human “lobster” toward a giant steaming pot and attempt to “boil” her to death. New York – Crowds gathered at Rockefeller Center for New York Fashion Week events will get a front-row seat to a grisly display on Thursday, when PETA supporters dressed as bruised and bloodied sheep converge outside the venue with lifelike dead lambs and the message, “Wool Kills.” PETA supporters will show footage from a recent PETA Asia investigation on a farm certified by NATIVA—a “responsible” wool brand— which reveals workers kicking and stomping on terrified sheep, dragging them by their legs, and leaving them with gaping wounds after crude shearing.

New York – Drone footage of two Pete and Gerry’s supplier farms is at the center of a class-action lawsuit filed today by PETA Foundation attorneys in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, on behalf of consumers who paid premium prices for eggs misleadingly marketed as “pasture raised.” The lawsuit argues that Pete and Gerry’s crams 20,000 hens into crowded sheds, leaving each chicken with just 1.5 square feet of floor space or less—making it nearly impossible for many to move, much less reach an exit. The drone footage, although filmed over several hours on a clear day when hens should be outside according to the company’s claims to consumers, showed that no hens left the barn at the first farm, and only a handful did at the second farm—inconsistent with the images on the company’s packaging that show hens in lush green fields and its website’s claim that the birds are “free to frolic under sunny skies.”
