ROCHESTER, N.Y.- Tracking some fine late summer weather Wednesday with a good deal of sunshine and light winds from the southwest. After a cool morning temperatures will warm nicely into the upper 70s and low 80s. Fair weather Wednesday evening and night. Looking ahead to Thursday some showers and thunder will pass through the region. Much of the day will be dry but for outdoor plans Thursday factor in some rain chances. Threat Tracker green into the weekend.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Keep the umbrella handy this week with showers and scattered thunderstorms likely. Monday will bring lots of clouds and showers with temps in the 70s. No heavy rain or strong storms expected, but damp at times into the afternoon. Tuesday will bring sun and clouds with scattered showers and thunder in the afternoon. Small chance for a stronger storm on Tuesday. Wednesday will be the day to watch for possible severe weather with some gusty storms later in the afternoon and evening. ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Threat Tracker has a Yellow Alert Wednesday as a heads up to keep an eye to the sky for heavy weather. A few rounds of storms are possible with heavy rain and flooding a concern. Other issues will be potential damaging wind gusts, hail and even an isolated tornado. Some thunder may fire up around midday with additional storms later in the afternoon and evening. ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Back to green on the Threat Tracker as Wednesday's severe weather outbreak is over. Huge storms brought intense lightning, damaging wind, power outages, hail, flooding and possible tornadoes. Thankfully those storms have moved out of the region and going forward much nicer weather days ahead. For Thursday skies are clearing with some sunshine in the forecast and temps near 80 degrees. Dry and pleasant for any outdoor plans. A few clouds with a shower possible tonight into very early Friday morning before skies clear for a nice end to the week.

ROCHESTER, N.Y – Threat Tracker has a Yellow Alert for later Wednesday afternoon and evening for a strong to severe storm threat. Yellow Alert has timing of storms between 5-8PM. Main threat will be areas south of 5&20 into the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier. Primary concern will be heavy rain and damaging wind gusts with a very small tornado threat. I do want to point out that the set-up today is nowhere near what we saw last week. Conditions aren't nearly as favorable. In fact, for areas closer to Lake Ontario clouds and showers will limit any thunder potential for later today. Moving further south, the conditions are only slightly better, but with a cold front moving in we may see enough variables come together to spark a local severe storm. Keep the umbrella handy today for plain old showers and then watch the radar for any stronger storms after 5PM. Rain clears tonight and weather improves Thursday into Friday. ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A warm and muggy start to Thursday with temperatures in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. A front will move by with a few clouds and maybe a brief shower, but most of us stay dry. Behind that front the wind will pick up from the northwest and drier air will move in and lower the humidity into the afternoon. Lots of high school football games this evening and the weather looks dry and breezy. Mainly clear and much cooler tonight with temps dropping into the low 50s. Clear and pleasant Friday. Bright sunshine for much of the morning will fade behind some increasing clouds during the afternoon, but most of the day will be dry. Weather will be nice for any high school football games this afternoon. It will start to feel more humid as the clouds move in late in the day.
