These days, boundaries between musical universes are a whole lot looser, and it feels completely natural — especially given that the Dischord band in question is the art-punk crew Shudder To Think, who were always glammier than their peers.

Julien Baker appears to be cooking something up . Five and a half years after the release of , her last solo album, Baker is once again getting active outside the context of her many collaborations. Nashville battleship Eric Church is one of our most restless and exploratory mainstream country stars, as he showed on last year's . But Church really excels at big, hearty old-school Southern rock songs, and his new single "On The Road" is one of those.

One of the highlights of any AC/DC show is the moment, during their regular grand finale "For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)" when they fire off an actual onstage cannon. That's a glorious piece of simulated destruction, which is so much better than the real kind. Real destruction might force a stadium to cancel an AC/DC show.

Back in 2016, Jenny Lewis formed the indie supergroup Nice As Fuck with Au Revoir Simone's Erika Forster and the Like's Tennessee Thomas, and they played their first show at a Bernie Sanders benefit. The surprise-released their self-titled debut a few months later. They toured. They played Colbert . And then they were gone. Now, they're back.
