The Pella Christian High School Theatre Troupe will perform Disney’s Frozen next month, making them just the fourth high school in Iowa to be able to bring this production to the stage.

For the first time this fall, four Pella Christian fall sports teams will be in action today.

Newton Main Street and the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce hosted their second annual Red and Black Block Party in conjunction with Newton High School’s Homecoming festivities Thursday night. The event began with food trucks, family activities, and games, before continuing with the homecoming parade, pep rally, and the second annual Cardinal Games. The event also included a kid zone and mini golf. The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was also in attendance playing music throughout the event. Find photos from the Red and Black Block Party below.

Central College is hosting the work of Bob Kroese, a wildfowl wood carving artist. Kroese’s exhibit, titled “Labor of Love,” is on display until Friday, September 25th in the Mills Gallery.

The Awakening Grace Foundation in Pella will hold their 5K Remembrance Color Run in Oskaloosa on October 3rd.

Marion County First Responders and community members gathered at the Cordova Observation Tower to honor and remember the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks on the 25th year anniversary.

In its first game at the Saint Paul Classic Friday, the Central College volleyball team fell in straight sets against Carleton College (Minn.). The Knights (3-2) defeated the Dutch 25-18, 25-23, 25-22.

Despite a late comeback effort, a slow start hampered the Pella Christian football team in an 18-12 loss to Treynor in a game heard live on the KRLS2 stream Friday night.
