High temperatures this week will stay around 5 to 10 degrees above average to end the month. Highs will be in the upper 80s through Wednesday. Temperatures will cool slightly by the holiday weekend. Highs will be in the low 80s on Saturday and Sunday.

Showers and storms will move east of I-35 after midnight Wednesday morning. Storms will stay in the region from 1 a.m. until 6 a.m. The latest model trends indicate storms will be at their strongest in our region between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.

There is a “level 2″ risk of severe weather across the KTTC region on Thursday. The primary severe weather threat will be in the late evening hours. However, there could be two rounds of thunderstorms on Thursday.

The severe storm potential for Thursday evening and overnight has been downgraded significantly. There is now a level 1 risk of severe storms across SE MN and NE IA. The level 2 risks are in northern Minnesota, eastern Wisconsin, and Michigan.

High temperatures on Saturday will be in the mid-80s with partly cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the east around 5 to 10 mph. Dew points will be in the upper 60s and low 70s. Heat index values will range from the upper 80s and low 90s during the afternoon.

Showers and storms will move into the KTTC region after 5 a.m. Tuesday morning. Scattered storms are expected to impact the area throughout Tuesday.

Showers and thunderstorms return Friday evening. Strong to severe storms are possible Friday, so keep an eye out over the next two days.

Right now, there is no good agreement between long-range models on how widespread rain will be Sunday through Monday. I'm keeping our chances at an isolated risk for the moment. However, this will change as we get closer to the weekend.

Rain chances return to the KTTC region on Sunday. Isolated showers and storms will be possible throughout the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms are likely Monday, with a few strong storms possible, too.
